For most of my life I had taken the time to learn all that I can. I studied, paid attention, took the time to ask questions until I was satisfied that I understood, yet when it came to my faith, I had never taken the time to really explore what I was being taught. For thirty eight years, I took the words, the theology of a religion at face value. I took for granted that they knew what they were talking about, trusted them with what I was told was the most important aspect of my life . . . my eternal soul. I was taught that I needed them. As a "Christian" my faith was spoon fed; as a heretic, if I misunderstood, I had only myself to blame.
